Leah Knight, of Corpus Christi, Texas, began her musical studies at the age of three. An accomplished violinist and pianist, Leah decided to focus on opera performance after she was offered a recording contract with a country label at 13 and turned it down. She has sung as a featured soloist for such notable people as Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, Dr. Hector P. Garcia and President George H.W. Bush and with University of Texas ensembles such as the UT Symphony Orchestra and Concert Chorale. Leah has debuted many UT composers’ works as well as performed in many UT Opera Theater Productions. She continues to perform in international operatic venues such as Salzburg, Austria and Moscow, Russia. Leah has participated in master classes with such notable people as Charles Reicker of the Metropolitan Opera and Linda Larson of New York University. Leah completed her Bachelor’s under the University of Texas’ Martha Deatherage and is currently working towards a Master’s of Music at the University of Texas at Austin.
